Greetings/long time...Being both in my sixties and a 'child of the sixties' permits me a certain latitude to ruminate upon the oft amusing and/or tragic psychopathologies exemplified by the ongoing 'brew-haha' over the Judith von Halle affair, particularly in European Anthroposophic circles.Pardon my irreverence but a little humor is appropriate in light of the hand wringing innuendo resulting from the perceived threat to the A.S.'s credibility. Almost a decade since the stigmatic inception which can be seen as a continuation of the schisms and upheavals dating back to the'rebirth' of the A.S. itself at the Christmas Conference. Then Steiner left the physical plane also leaving the administration of his legacy in the hands of fallible human beings, even though those beings may have been the reincarnations of world historic personalities! A dose of critical intellectualism-at which the A.S. so excels-can metamorphose into a fearful 'thought demon'; exactly the intention of the audience cheering from the Ahrimanic Peanut Gallery, watching this latest situation unravel.. R.S. and his fellow Bodisattvas are either laughing or crying on their astral planes-maybe both. Is it not incumbent upon Spiritual Science, as represented by the A.S., to acknowledge the manifestation of supersensible events like the stigmata which R.S himself. venerated and indicated would increase as the epoch continues? Then again ascribing motivation to Sergi Prokofieff, von Halle's most vocal critic, is problematic given the credibility of his own clairvoyance. So whose credibility is more credible? The clairvoyant criticism of Prokofieff, or the clairvoyant phenomena of the stigmata itself? Cognitive tangents and digression aside , Rudolf Steiner, as represented by the A.S. or von Halle remains a spiritual genius and
modern saint as expressed in Prokofieff's own words:"For me the decisive fact was that for the first time in world history Rudolf Steiner, as an initiate of great spiritual significance, was able to work publicly amongst humanity. This was also someone whose initiation was founded on the newest faculties of our time, the ability to explore and describe the spiritual world with the same exact clarity as a natural scientist." INDEED!. . Thus Prokofieff, is due more admiration than criticism-even for his own criticism. His many books and deep insights are much admired by Anthroposophists the world over. Still, one wonders why phenomena of a psychic nature, such as the stigmata, are disputed by seemingly clairvoyant insight which bears a certain relationship to said phenomena? Riddles are wrapped in enigmas and answers lost in the ephemeral etheric. And who knows the actual people and happenings other than themselves? This is why the only real change we can aspire to is within ourselves, and-trite though it may be- why we must love ourselves first before loving others (not to mention mankind).
